When you live in a coastal city, very close to the sea almost everything in your house gets rusted. From scissors to pipes and slowly this rust turns into patterns and slowly gets transfered by contact to nearby surfaces like walls or floors which creates interesting visual and tactile textures. I usually click my product pictures on my terrace steps to the lift room. During one such shoot, I casually turned my attention to the stone earrings I had left on a step and I found this beautiful rust pattern next to it. I loved the beautiful contrast between the coarseness on the wall (pattern) and the shine of rhinestones from the earrings and immediately captured it
This picture totally reminds me of the Fabric development workshop by Nuno Corporation, Japan, I attended at Shristhi college of Art, Bangalore in 2008 where we experimented with Rust dyeing among other techniques.
So What do you think of the pic?I think it would make an interesting color/texture palette
