Resin Adventure – Creating Sucess around the world

Last week Jill and Janelle wrote to me, asking if I wanted to be a part of their World Blog hop as a part of Creating success around the world. I was so excited and immediately said yes. Blog world is all about meeting new people, sharing your ideas and learning something new everyday, isnt it? I have learnt so much about jewelry making from the internet and especially from blogs that I cant put it all in one post and whatever I say will not be enough to express my gratitude.
But the two major techniques I learnt from blogs in terms of jewelry making is wire work and Resin work. I have written a lot about my wire work experiments and will continue to do so in the future but now the present moment is with Resin.
Initially I worked only with Diamond glaze for I wanted to get the technique right before proceeding to the real resin. After what seemed like an eternity I found my way around Diamond glaze and here are a few worthwhile projects. These are pendants made from Bifocal spectacle lenses that belong to my mom. First one is an image of from my favourite childhood book King Arthur and his elephants and the second one is a miniature print of Raja Ravi Varma’s painting. These are firmly backed with leather for support.

Then I got some bases and glass domes from etsy and took the DG route further. After some clouding and scraping later , I figured out the right way to do it. I must have read atleast 50 tutorials on blogs while making them. :D. I really love the meow cat earrings (top right) and the way the both the necklaces have turned out. These are sets and come with matching earrings and these are lovely reminders of Spring in fall and winter 🙂
Then I took a chance and ordered the only 2 oz package of Ice resin I found on internet. Though I was skeptical I had a blast working with it. As I was very busy with navaratri I was unable to convert the pieces into anything useful. So I’ll do a separate post on them later.

Anyway Thanks to all of you who came by to read my blog. Feel free to look around, there are inspirations, tutorials and lapidary information to lap up. Would love if you left a comment or became a follower to keep in touch….!!All pieces showcased here are for sale and mail me with your preference to buy them

Special Thanks to Janelle for featuring three Chennai based bloggers in your blog hop. We have come together to organise a fun meet- Blogger Kootam for Chennai bloggers who are especially into arts, crafts, Design, fashion, style, makeup and beauty…Registrations are open so check it out!!
