Happy 3rd Blogoversary

I just clicked the new post icon on my blogger dashboard and then realised that it indeed is February 15th and the time to say hi to my new fans and thank all the old ones for supporting me through another year. Happy 3rd Blogoversary to Jewelsofsayuri !!!! As I write this blogoversary post, I am stumped, for so many things happened last year – and I dont know where to begin or end. Here are my reflections of the year that went…

–  To reach atleast 100000 hits was the mark – this blog as of today has around 2,22,000+ hits, 250 followers and this is my 232 post..!! Some might say well its a little less for a 3 year old blog but then I am not a numbers person to begin with. I do love and at times envy full time bloggers posting everyday but when they go updating their statuses saying that they have x fans, y likes and z hits, it sometimes gets on to my nerves.
I generally refrain from posting my photos on the blog, but here are some so you can connect to me better when you meet me on the road side 😉
My love hate relationship with my Facebook page, Pinterest &  Online stores – my FB page has around 364 likes and has grown more than 3 times over since the last year 🙂 a lot of these people actually read my posts, comment or atleast like them. I do “Love the like” button” but sometimes when a product with lots of likes doesnt really sell, I get all confused and frustrated for I cannot understand where I went wrong. Do any of you guys feel the same?
Lots of confusion with stores – opening up stores then closing them, entering partnerships with retail websites then things not working out, people running away or just things running their course. But it was a great educational journey. I still have an online presence on ETSYFacebook so thats great.I love pinterest  and I do make things that I pin. I do have around 26 boards  with lots of jewelry ideas. Follow on if you find them interesting.
– Features – No awards :(, but I was featured in national Television – on the OMG show and my Chithiram collection, based on Raja Ravi Verma’s paintings was showcased. This was followed by a feature in Hindu Metro plus, (Trivandrum edition), a major national Daily and in the Craftziners magazine – where in I was honored with an exclusive interview  and feature. Recently a photo of my jewelry booth and I also appeared in Hindu, Jan 21st, Puducherry edition. This week a couple of my valentines day tutorials were featured in a local magazine, Vasantham.

– New sections, techniques and features 18 new tutorials  and 4 video tutorials too have you seen them yet?
Pic of the month features a craft/ design related photo and the story behind it every month
– regular column – Jewelry series  on the Craftziners Magazine, which has been quite a hit Thanks to Madhavi Sivan & Sanchitha
Giveaways, Partnerships & PR – Hosted Sew mama sew, DIY Beading Club giveaways and Participated in a gift exchange program. I had partnered with Lotsofbuttons, Nina designs, Jyothi to create fabulous jewelry using their supplies. There have also been press notes, releases and PR reviews of  Jabong, Infinity eyewear and Modahaus and currently writing for Koolkart. I look forward to doing more such Giveaways, parties and exchanges in the future. Interested in me doing a review or you product/ company, contact me.

Thats been quite a year; So what are my resolutions of this year…??

– interesting info – Bridal Series is still the most looked at post (series) in this blog..so The second edition is right around the corner  (Did you see the promo) and I am really excited about it – Contributions are most welcome!!
