For quite sometime I have been wanting to write a post about blog world quirks, simple things that as readers or bloggers that we dont understand – like why didnt I receive a reply to that well thought out comment on your post or whats with this rising trend of every blog having ads, whats a reblog, who’s an affliate and so on and so forth.
But then a lot of talented bloggers have already covered most of these topics, so I thought that I’ll put together a sort of the ‘dummies info guide’ explaining all of the above and more by quoting these wonderful ladies and gentlemen!
Note to google: None of these people have paid me for linking to them. I am just doing it out of some good old fashioned respect and courtesy!!
1)I am a blogger newbie and I am astounded by all the beautiful blogs and no. of posts that give out blogging advise. Is there a simple check list that I can maintain so that my posts and blog looks professional?
with 1000’s of bloggers giving out blogging advice everyday, things might get really confusing for any blogger(myself included) not to mention a newbie blogger. I found a simple checklist here at glitter, glue and paint to create a clean and professional looking blog post in simple steps
2) Why doesnt anyone reply to my comments?
If you guys havent been getting my replies to all your wonderful comments on my blog or other blog – that means that you are a ‘No reply blogger’. In that case you have to visit the same blog post again to read the reply. Dont worry you can change it by following the instructions listed here by Robin
3) Why are my comments getting deleted?
If you include an URL in your comment to mention your blog, page or a linky, it will be deleted by almost all bloggers. Also generic comments that linky parties host or even loyal followers leave like ‘super, ‘awesome’ get deleted. why? Because google considers it to be spam. sad but that reality 🙁 Comments which talk specifically about the particular blog post are only considered genuine so try to add in a few words relevant to the post while leaving your lovley comments. 5) How do I make money with my blog?
Most blogger spend a better part of their week clicking pictures, putting together ideas, articles to create an interesting blog. So its only natural that you want some compensation for your time and all your hardwork. 6) As a blogger how do I promote and monetize my site safely?
Most of us bloggers also work as affiliate of other brands to monetize out blogs and we do promote PR articles and reblog content, but google frowns upon indiscriminate use of the same. To aid google in ensuring quality content delivery to its users and to gift ourselves some peace of mind, its works to read the web master guidelines here
